It’s midday on our shoot in Brentwood and Frankie Essexand Luke Luv are gazing at their newborn twins sleeping peacefully in their shared crib. Then there’s a knock on the door – a clinician has arrived at their home to inject the new parents with vitamin B12 via an IV drip, to help boost their energy levels.
“They’re feeding every three hours,” says Frankie, as she explains her reasoning behind the £35 hack regularly used by fatigued Hollywood stars, such as Hailey Bieber and Rihanna. “We’ve found the tiredness really hard. People tell you, ‘Get your sleep in when you can,’ but it’s impossible, especially with two. We’re sleeping for 90 minutes at a time, max. I feel more alive this week.”
When we meet the couple’s non-identical twins, a boy and a girl, they are just two weeks old and are happily guzzling their organic formula milk. Frankie is wearing no make-up in a Disney nightie, while personal trainer Luke is in jogging bottoms and on permanent standby to tend to the former TOWIE star’s every need as she recovers from the birth by elective C-section.
“Luke has been superdad,” beams Frankie. “Before you arrived, he had Hoovered and mopped the whole house. Honestly, he’s the best. I rate him so much. That’s graft!”
