It seemed Prince Harry had burnt his bridges with the royal family after the revelations in his explosive memoir Spare, but a source has revealed that a reconciliation could be on the cards.
In a dramatic U-turn, Harry is said to be thrashing out a plan with King Charles to arrange peace talks, but has allegedly made it clear he wants his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, there too.
Last week, Harry, 38, confirmed he will be in the UK next month and is returning to London to attend a ceremony for an event for charity WellChild. He also has a second trip planned after the Invictus Games, which takes place in Düsseldorf between 9 and 16 September. Meghan, 42, will join Harry for the closing ceremony and was reported to be heading back to the US afterwards.
However, a source told new the peace talks could happen on 17 September in London after the games and Harry has asked for Meghan to be present.
“Harry is more than happy to meet with his father to thrash things out, but Meghan will be accompanying him on his trip to Europe and he doesn’t want to leave her out,” the source claimed.
“Discussions have been ongoing to bring the King together with his son but it hasn’t been the right time. Talks were originally meant to take place when Harry was over for the Coronation, but aides thought it would be far too stressful for the King to meet with his son during that time.
“Everyone is now working toward 17 September as a date that both Charles and Harry can attend, so the finer details are being worked through between their teams.”
It’s thought that the pair could meet in the hopes of smoothing out family tensions, following the release of Spare and the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan.
