Ruth Langsford is navigating a difficult time right now. While her career is going great guns, from her presenting gig at ITV's Loose Women to her fashion range at QVC, she is facing a starkly different future without husband Eamonn Holmes.
He had been by her side for 14 years of marriage and almost three decades as a couple. And a source tells new that the 64-year-old presenter is trying her best to move on after the devastating breakdown of her marriage to the broadcaster, also 64. But that includes contending with the news that her ex reportedly has a new girlfriend, just months after they announced their marriage was over.
Pictures of Eamonn with Katie Alexander, 42, were widely circulated recently at a Barcelona port, as they prepared to go on a Mediterranean cruise together - a trip which reportedly followed a weekend break to Eamonn's hometown of Belfast.
And the seemingly fast-moving nature of their alleged relationship has hit Ruth hard, the source claims. "Ruth is pretty shocked at Eamonn's behaviour and how he's er moved on so fast, it's quite devastating."
But the star, who is showing off a new longer hairstyle after having hair extensions fitted, is doing her best to enjoy the single life and look to the future, they claim.
Apparently deciding to console. herself by having fun and spending some quality time with those she holds dearest, the mum-of-one, who shares grown-up son Jack with Eamonn, has enjoyed more than one boozy night out with friends of late.
