When she started her Dancing On Ice journey, Coronation Street actress Mollie Gallagher had never performed live and only ever ice-skated at Christmas.
Six weeks into the live shows and she’s already pulled off the controversial headbanger lift – and now she’s begging her professional partner Sylvain Longchambon to come up with even more dangerous moves.
“I’m pretty fearless!” laughs Mollie, who reveals the show has given her a newfound “sense of freedom” in our exclusive chat.
That’s not all it’s given her. She’s now got buns of steel thanks to hours training on the ice. “You get a better bum when you’re an ice-skater,” says the 25-year-old.
Here the actress, who plays Nina Lucas on Corrie, reveals why she doesn’t want her Dancing On Ice journey to end…
How are you finding the Dancing On Ice experience?
Honestly, I love it so much. It’s genuinely one of the best experiences ever.
Has anything surprised you about being on the show?
I’ve surprised myself really in terms of how I’ve picked things up. That has been the biggest struggle, how fast-paced it is. I’m naturally quite a slow learner. I think it just goes to show that if I had all the time each week to practise, I really could be quite good.
Have you found it liberating on the ice?
Yeah, I love performing, I love music. I think when you’re on the ice there is this sense of freedom.
