Singer Céline Dion has said she’s taking life “one day at a time”, after being diagnosed with a rare disease that has sidelined her career.
The 56-year-old French Canadian, known for iconic tracks such as My Heart Will Go On and The Power Of Love, was told she has the autoimmune neurological disorder stiff person syndrome in 2022, which led to her taking a shock break from the spotlight. However, Céline – who has vowed “nothing is going to stop me” – has made her comeback in a moving interview and stunning photoshoot for Vogue France.
Céline looks incredible in a series of beautiful images, with one black and white photograph showing her topless in an unbuttoned oversized shirt and boxer-style briefs. In another, she poses in a belted wrap dress, with a trench coat slung over her shoulders, as she places her hands on her hips. And in another, she stands bare-shouldered and looking self-assured, wrapped in a pale pink fluffy coat.
The superstar opened up with great honesty to the publication about how her life has changed since her diagnosis, saying the disease is still within her “and always will be”.
“I hope that we’ll find a miracle, a way to cure it with scientific research,” she continues. “But for now I have to learn to live with it. I’m taking it one day at a time.”
