The bond between the Prince of Wales and his eldest son, Prince George, is as strong T as ever, as their latest outing shows. All eyes were on the pair as they sat in the stands at Wembley Stadium to watch the FA Cup Final, with George, 10, clearly having inherited his father's love of football.
The young prince grinned from ear to ear as he enjoyed an afternoon out with his dad, watching as Manchester United lifted the trophy for the second year in a row by pulling off a 2-1 victory over their local rivals Manchester City.
The day gave royal watchers a perfect opportunity to see the confident young man George has blossomed into - and there was an added undercurrent to the outing, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond exclusively tells OK!.
"He's a handsome little boy and clearly idolises his father," Jennie says. "Outings like this must make the two of them even closer - and they will provide a much-needed escape from the inevitable stress of home life when someone you love so much is being treated for cancer." Prince George has always been extremely wellbehaved during public appearances - something that is largely due to the way he has been brought up with a solid understanding of the royal responsibilities that lie in his future.
However, Jennie believes we would see a different side to the young prince away from the glare of the spotlight when he is at home with dad William, 41, and mum, Kate, 42.
"I'm sure that, behind the scenes, he and William have some rough and tumble, father-and-son fun," she says.
