When we arrive at our shoot with Laura Anderson at our plant-filled studio in north London, we can tell the bubbly Scot is excited, if not slightly apprehensive after all, this is the first interview she's done since announcing in February that she’s expecting.
The former Love Island star posted an adorable video montage on Instagram to share with the world she’s carrying her first child, with ex-Footballers’ Wives star Gary Lucy. However, news of their split was confirmed by Gary that very evening and quickly spread far and wide.
Laura, who's revealed she’s expecting a girl, looks glowing in a crochet dress which shows off her blossoming bump. When we sit down to chat, we put her at ease. Following the huge media circus around her break-up and pregnancy, we want to give her the opportunity to tell her story.
“It's been a bit of a roller coaster so far,” she says, contemplating our question about how she’s found her pregnancy.
“Going through a public break-up while pregnant and reading mistruths in the media has been a challenge. just want to be positive and move forward, and m really excited about her coming along. think if can get through this, can get through anything.”
We couldn't agree more and it's nice to see Laura laughing as her adorable Pomeranian pooch Buddy jumps up to give us affectionate licks.
This gorgeous maternity shoot is a welcome distraction for the 34-year-old, who, unbelievably, has received some backlash following her split from Gary. The former couple met during filming for Celebs Go Dating last summer and it got serious quickly as Gary made it clear he’d have children with the star tomorrow.
