Pulling up at Billie Shepherd’s new house is a breath of fresh air. It’s not often the whole OK! crew can park their cars on a celebrity’s driveway, but at the Shepherds’ luxury abode our fleet lines up perfectly on the gigantic forecourt – with room to spare!
Welcoming us into her incredible five-bedroom Essex mansion, Billie’s children Nelly and Arthur have their school uniforms on and are on their way out the door as her husband Greg escorts them to the car. Meanwhile, the glam squad are working their magic on the mum-of-three, and three-month-old Margot is snoozing soundly.
While Billie’s getting made up, we take the opportunity to have a quick tour of the house – our first stop is the Khloé Kardashian-style pantry. Dozens of organised herbs and spices in labelled jars and draws full of neatly packed-in bags of crisps, it’s the stuff dreams are made of. And after two years of renovation work since they first purchased the Brentwood property, Billie admits moving into her home has been a long time coming.
“We love it here and we’ve really settled in well,” she says. “The kids love it and we’re really happy – but I’ve got this thing at the minute where not every room is done and not one room is completed. There are still things missing, accessories to come, we’re still waiting on lighting and joinery. I just want it done, but at the end of the day a home does take time.”
