PeterAndre once famously told OK! he “didn’t want to be changing nappies after 50”, but as he fast approaches his 51st birthday — and the birth of his fifth child — that’s exactly what he’ll be doing.
The singer and TV presenter is currently expecting his third child with doctor wife Emily MacDonagh, 34, and given what he reveals at our exclusive festive photoshoot, we’re actually not convinced it will be their last.
As we chat, it’s obvious the couple couldn’t be more excited about the arrival of a little brother or sister for Millie, nine, and Theo, seven, and of course Pete’s older children, Princess, 16, and 18-year-old Junior.
“My children are by far my proudest achievements, they are my whole life, and this baby is a gift,” Peter tells us, between checking on Emily and offering coffee and biscuits for the OK! team. “When my first child was born, my whole world and purpose changed.
“My children’s births were my proudest moments. I’ve realised everything we do in life is for our children.”
But what about his opinion on changing nappies at 50? Is he really prepared for the chaos of a newborn again?
“Absolutely! I’ve got as much energy now as I had in my twenties,” he says, with the undeniable enthusiasm of a young man. “I feel fantastic. I’m ready for this.”
At over halfway through her pregnancy, Emily is aware her bump hasn’t quite “popped” yet. But what it lacks in size, it clearly makes up for in strength, as she announces moments later the baby is “kicking like mad” as the couple cradle her bump.
