She is the star of her estranged husband’s new film, but Jennifer Lopez says she has no regrets about taking on the role. The actress is appearing in new release Unstoppable, which was produced by her ex Ben Affleck and shot while the pair were still happily married. However, they announced their divorce after two years of marriage in August this year, but Jennifer, 55, is glad she accepted the role.

Speaking to OK! and other international media at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, she says, “As I think back on my career, maybe at times I should’ve been more selective [when taking roles]. Maybe I should’ve waited for this director or done this thing or that, but this is my journey. This is the one that I’m on, and I’ve done it and I made all the choices myself. And, you know, some work and some don’t — but that’s not the point.

“The point is, I got to do all that, and I really loved it. I can think of maybe one or two movies out of the 50 or 60 that I’ve made where I felt, ‘Ugh, maybe I wouldn’t have done that. That was no fun.’ But it’s so few. Like, 0.001%. The rest, I’d do it all over again.”

Equally Ben, 52, has no regrets about casting Jennifer into a main role — after all, back then he couldn’t have predicted their split — and has hailed her performance as “spectacular”. She plays Judy Robles, the mother of wrestler Anthony who, despite being born with one leg, overcame several adversities to pursue his sporting dream. The film is based on a true story and Jennifer worked closely with the real Judy to perfect her portrayal.
