Soap Opera Digest: How did you react when you heard there would be another WEDDING VEIL trilogy?
Alison Sweeney: I was so excited when I found out we were going to be making more movies with these characters. Not only do I love this story, but it is so fun to work with Lacey [Chabert, ex-Bianca, ALL MY CHILDREN] and Autumn [Reeser, ex-Taylor, The O.C.].
Digest: What do you think it is about this series that it appeals to the audience as it does?
Sweeney: The story is so relatable — so many women have tight friendships like Avery, Emma and Tracy. Each character is so different, it’s easy for the audience to identify with one or more of the characters' personalities and put themselves in their shoes. And the depth of their bond is so touching. It reminds me of my own close friendships in real life. And, of course, the magic of the veil is so enchanting. These movies have so many compelling story points. It's fun to see them unfold.
Digest: What was it like to reconnect with Lacey and Autumn?
Sweeney: Lacey and Autumn and I have stayed in touch over the last year. We text and chat, sort of like our characters. When we see something that reminds us of each other, we send it along. But especially when we're together on set, we have such a great connection. It's so fun to film together and have more emotional, deep scenes together than we did in the first three movies. It's so fun to see each character get their moment to really figure out their lives.
Digest: How would you describe your relationship with them? Has it deepened as you've worked together more?
