Y&R STAR ON SURPRISE PROPOSAL

Michael Graziadei (Daniel, Y&R) proposed to his girlfriend of nearly 10 years, Lauren, while he was promoting the 50th anniversary of the No. 1 soap as a guest on THE TALK. It took careful planning to make sure his fiancée-to-be would be: surprised. "Lauren and I had been ring shopping and we had kind of settled on the style she wanted," explains the actor.

"We had found some options and we were looking at vintage rings as opposed to something new. We just liked the idea of something that had some kind of story behind it. After we had narrowed it down, I'm still thinking in my head, 'How the hell am I gonna surprise her and propose to her?" " The opportunity fell into Graziadei's lap when he, along with Camryn Grimes (Mariah), Bryton James (Devon) and Christel Khalil (Lily), were invited to appear on the CBS chat show. "When I found out I would be on THE TALK, Lauren said to me, 'Well, that'd be fun. I wanna go," "he recalls.

"I'm like, 'What are you gonna do?' She said, 'Oh, stay backstage or in the green room, whatever. I just think it would be fun. And then the wheels just started turning."

THE TALK was happy to arrange the on-air surprise; however, there was one important detail that Graziadei needed to lock down. "I had to go to the guy we were getting the ring from and make sure it would be ready," he shares. "Lucky for me, this guy Larry at Platt Boutique [Jewelry] is right across the street from CBS studio on Beverly Boulevard, which made it easy for me because I was at work every day so I popped over and was like, I need the ring!' He was so good and so kind about it and really worked with me, and I was able to procure it in time."
