ON April 24, Ellen DeGeneres hit the stage at the Coronet Theater in Hollywood to do stand-up for the first time since The Ellen DeGeneres Show  came to an unceremonious end in May 2022. Wearing a black shirt, white pants and sneakers, the Louisiana native covered a lot of ground for the sold-out crowd of 200, cracking jokes about how she’s been keeping busy and her feelings on being ousted from Hollywood. “I got kicked out of show business,” she said in her signature deadpan, getting in a dig about her tarnished Ms. Nice image. “There’s no mean people in show business.”

It’s been four years since the 66-year-old star was accused of fostering a toxic workplace environment behind the scenes of her hit talk show. Now she’s finally breaking her silence — and she isn’t holding back. According to an insider, the comedian is relishing using her new stand-up gigs as an opportunity to air out old grievances. “It’s been hard for Ellen to forgive and forget,” the insider tells Star. “To her, being canceled wasn’t business, it was personal. If anyone has an ax to grind, it’s her.”
