CHARCUTERIE Heaven

Food as decor? Yes, please. This year, elevate your tablescape with a little help from Kori Jones. “I’m reimagining tradition by featuring a charcuterie board as the edible centerpiece,” says the Simple Life Things founder, whose company creates and delivers breathtaking cheese boards to residents of the Los Angeles area, as well as teaches hands-on workshops, virtually or in person. And it’s safe to say Kori’s tips would turn anyone into Thanksgiving’s No. 1 hostess.

The expert advises to focus on “seasonal delights” including “Lucy Glo and Opal apples, sweet persimmons, red grapes, rustic shelled pistachios, candied walnuts, cranberries, pears and apricots.” Pair those with “an assortment of fall-inspired cheeses, including the deep orange-hued Mimolette, or a lighter orange Gouda, along with aged cheddars, Manchego or Brie,” she adds. Lastly, turn to nature for that picturesque final touch. “Arrange fall-colored foliage from the garden around the board on the table,” she advises. “Don’t forget to place a few whole persimmons or mini pumpkins on or around your display for added charm.”
