'I'M PROUD to be me

It’s been a long journey, but Selena Gomez has finally reached a point of acceptance – and appreciation – with her body. Taking to her Instagram stories on January 22, the star reflected on how her figure has changed over the years by sharing two images of herself in a swimsuit taken 10 years apart. “Today, I realised I will never look like this again,” the 31-year-old captioned the first shot, which showed her looking trim poolside in a zebra-striped ensemble back in 2013.

Gomez quickly followed that shot up with a second photograph of herself in black, highwaisted bikini bottoms which was taken last year while she was on holiday in Mexico. Alongside the snap, which showed off her morecurvaceous figure, the star shared a more empowering message with her followers. “I’m not perfect, but I am proud to be who I am,” she wrote. “Sometimes I forget it’s OK to be me.”
