THE STAR OPENS UP ON KIDS, HER CAREER AND WHAT HER PERFECT DAY LOOKS LIKE
Kate Winslet 'FAMILY is my LIFE'

She’s an A-list superstar with an Academy Award, five Golden Globes and the same number of BAFTAs under her belt. But accolades and red carpets aside, Kate Winslet is, by all accounts, surprisingly down-to-earth.

A mother-of-three with a full-time job, she dreams of the day she can kick back and read a cookbook undisturbed. She might even cook up some of her culinary finds.

For her, family and home life will always come first, despite the demands of Hollywood. Right now, Winslet is busy promoting her new film Lee, a biopic about American model-turned-war-photojournalist Lee Miller, and she’s soon to appear in Binge series The Regime – yet her children are never far from her mind.

“I have a family. That is my life,” Winslet told Porter magazine recently, adding that her dream daily scenario would be to “get up at 6am, take the dogs out, then sit with a cup of tea and read one of my cookery books”. Instead, she’s reading scripts and no doubt going over lines with her daughter Mia, 23, and son Joe, 20, who both starred with her in the 2022 series I Am… Ruth.

Winslet was just 22 when the blockbuster Titanic hit movie theatres, and became one of the highest-grossing films of all time. She became an instant household name, but she’s been candid about how she didn’t like the fame it brought.
