THE STAR'S JOURNEY FROM HOME ALONE TO DOTING DAD HASN'T BEEN EASY

When a child star falls, the world watches on with intrigue. And all too often, they don't make it out the other side. Macaulay Culkin could have been one of those tragic stories.

Once one of the most successful child actors of all time - with much lauded roles in Home Alone, My Girl, Richie Rich and Uncle Buck - his life took a different trajectory after he became legally emancipated from his parents aged 14.

By 17, he was married. Two years later it was all over and since then it's been one hell of a rollercoaster ride. 

Now 43, however, Culkin has a beautiful fiancée, Brenda Song, and two gorgeous children Dakota, 3, and Carson, 1.

"You are absolutely everything," an emotional Culkin told Song as he was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in December. "You're my champion. You're the only person happier for me today than I am. You're not only the best woman I've ever known, you're the best person I've ever known. You've given me just all my purpose. You've given me family."
