It was about to be morning when she woke up due to the sound of a loud horn honking. Ginny peeped out of the truck and saw greenery all around. The natural sights were fascinating.
This doesn't look like my village. Where have I reached? she thought.
There was a board with 'Welcome to Coorg' written on it. Coorg? She had not heard this name before. The most surprising thing was that a different kind of fragrance was spread in the air. People burnt incense sticks in her village, but this was not the smell of incense sticks!
When the truck stopped, Ginny jumped down. She was thinking about what to do when she saw a group of squirrels under a tree. They were playing and having fun.
"Hello! My name is Ginny. Could you please tell me what is this fragrance that is spread everywhere?" "Hi, my name is Sally," one of the squirrels said, wagging her tail.
"It seems you are new here, that is why you are unable to recognise this smell. You are in Coorg in the state of Karnataka and this is the smell of coffee. Coffee is drunk just like tea. Everyone here drinks it. It is a little bitter, but a delicious drink."
"Coffee?" Ginny had not heard this name before. "Please tell me more about it."
Sally nodded and said, "Coffee is cultivated in this region, that is why Coorg is also called the 'coffee capital of India'. It has a lot of coffee plantations here and there. I will introduce you to Dodo butterfly.
You can visit these plantations with her and gain a lot of knowledge about them. She keeps flying, so she has all kinds of information."
As Sally called out, Ginny noticed that a colourful butterfly came and sat on her back. Sally introduced Dodo to Ginny.
