His chief minister, Jerry bear helped him in all his endeavours.
One day, Jerry said, "My King, there has been significant damage in two areas of the forest, Meenpuri and Motiganj, caused by the recent storms. As they are close to the sea, the storm has devastated all the birds and animals there. They are left with no food."
"Thank you for informing me. I shall allocate some money from the treasury to assist them. Please go and see if anything else is required," Elmo said.
"Your Highness, I've already expressed my inability to work efficiently due to old age. I would like to retire," Jerry expressed.
"Without you, how will we manage the forest? If you wish to step down, please find us a chief minister who is diligent, honest, and committed to the welfare of the forest, just like you."
Jerry replied, "Okay, Your Highness," and made announcements in the whole forest on the same day, inviting eligible animals and birds to apply for the chief minister's position.
Within a few days, Jerry received several applications. After conducting interviews, Jerry identified Eddie beaver and Binnie hornbill as potential candidates. However, he had to choose only one, so he devised a way to test them.
Jerry gave Eddie and Binnie an equal sum of money and said, "Go to Meenpuri and Motiganj and utilise this money to assist the animals and birds there, ensuring they can lead a happy life. I will evaluate who has taken better care of their constituency, and the chief minister will be selected based on this."
