You’ll probably know Røde for their quality microphones – the NT1 is a great, large diaphragm recording mic, while the NT-USB and Procaster certainly stand as fabulous solutions for more contemporary podcasting and streaming practices. Now Røde are releasing their first ever pair of headphones, the NTH100s, but can they maintain the quality standard in such a completely new product area?

The Røde NTH-100 are studio grade headphones – no fancy bluetooth operation or gimmicks here. These are straight-down-the-line wired headphones aimed at producers or music listeners after a top-quality experience.

They have a great design and professional feel with all of their component parts delivering a very confident ethos – not like a ‘product first’ from a company, by any means. There’s a cooling gel combined with memory foam in the ear pads, for example, that make them superbly comfortable. This is essential for the best mixing headphones because you are going to be wearing them for long periods and these ‘phones do not make themselves too noticeable as you wear them – a real bonus.
