Motorola with its G Series appears to be in a constant expansion mode beyond the 20K smartphone price segment. The Moto G82, a mid-range smartphone that debuted a few months ago in the international market, is the brand's attempt to capture the segment. The highlights in the specifications section of Moto G82 remain its 6.6-inch OLED 120Hz display and a 50 MP primary camera, stereo speakers, and an IP52 rating.
While the market is flooded with options in this smartphone segment, does Moto G82 stands a chance to make it through the shopping cart? Let's get into our in-depth Moto G82 review to understand whether this device is something you should be considering while planning your next smartphone upgrade.
Design
Moto G82, when it comes to design, evidently took a lot of inspiration from some of the previous Motorola smartphones. The design cues from Moto G52 and Moto G62 are visible along with some finishes Motorola Edge 30 thrown in between. All four smartphones have a relatively similar setup. And similar to Edge 30, the brand has claimed that G82 5G is also the lightest and slimmest smartphone available in the market in the segment. With a flattened plastic frame, G82 has curved body edges that make it easier to hold and perfect for single-hand usage.
The 6.6inch POLED display panel ensures that the display is thinner and it also is why the \the bezel size is down. For the selfie camera, G82 5G back has a hole-punch cutout. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner along with sound control buttons on the right side.
The IP52 rating should make the smartphone splash-resistant, however, many early critic reviews appointed out that the device easily catches fingerprints on the body. Constantly cleaning may be needed to get rid of the fingerprints. Moreover, to tackle this issue, Motorola also added a clear case in the package.
