Design pervades every part of our lives today. It lives in the clothes we wear, the food we eat, the homes we live in, and even in the way we organise our lives. Over time, one comes to realise that good design isn't just about aesthetics, but about functionality, about utility, about solving problems, and about making our lives richer.
For design to be all of this and more, creativity is essential. Juhi Vishnani, co-founder of young graphic design studio November, displays this quality in spades. Along with her partner and husband Shiva Nallaperumal, she has worked on creating identities, installations, lettering and typefaces, editorial design, motion graphics, and illustrations for brands like Uber, Apple Music, Nicobar, Elle Magazine, and the National Basketball Association (NBA).
November, as a studio, isn't driven by one specific style, but functions more as an extension of the personalities of its two founders. It's evident that the two have poured themselves into the studio; the Indian visual culture, its history, and modern interpretations form the crux of November which is mainly expressed through Type letterforms and fonts across different languages and scripts.
