BITE INTO AN ALIEN FRUIT

Fruits have been a part of our diet since time immemorial. We all have our go-to favourites such as apples, bananas, and oranges, but there's a whole world of exotic, rare fruits waiting to be discovered. These hidden treasures from the plant kingdom not only tantalise the taste buds but also offer a glimpse into the diversity of nature's bounty.

Here are some unusual fruits you must try at least once in your life.

JABUTICABA

Imagine plucking grapes from a tree! That's the magic of jabuticaba, a rare fruit native to Brazil. The fruit grows directly on the trunk and branches of the tree and, when ripe, it tastes like a combination of grapes and plums. It's a unique and delightful experience, one that's well worth trying if you ever find yourself in Brazil.

DURIAN

Known as the 'King of Fruits' in Southeast Asia, the durian is famous for its divisive odour. Some describe its smell as heavenly, while others liken it to rotten onions. Beneath the pungent aroma, however, the durian hides a creamy, sweet, and custard-like flesh that has earned it a dedicated fan base. Once you get past the scent, you'll discover why durian lovers can't get enough of this fruit.
