ANJANA ARJUN explored many interests before founding the sustainable fashion brand Sarjaa. She speaks to Kayal Arivalan on her entrepreneurial journey

Anjana Arjun's interest in fashion and art began at a young age. She was born and raised in Chennai before attending LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore to study fashion media and industries. Apart from design, while here, she had the opportunity to polish her marketing and financial planning skills. Anjana, who comes from a family of actors, had experimented with theatre and arts before being bitten by the fashion bug. "There was a point when I took up theatre and explored dance, and even gave dance performances, but, discovered that fashion was something that greatly fascinated me. I wanted to do something I was good at in a sustainable way, which led to the creation of Sarjaa," explains the entrepreneur.
