Hampi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was the capital city of the famous 14th Century Vijayanagara Empire. Located on the Tungabhadra river in Karnataka, Hampi is historically famous as the seat of South India's largest, wealthiest and most powerful empire. Its magnificent ruins, remarkable landscape and religious and mythological associations make it an outstanding destination of international significance.
