Like many millionaire movie stars, Hollywood A-lister Robert Downey Jr. has spent some of his vast wealth building up a covetable collection of fabulous classic cars.

But as much as he loves his gas-guzzling motors, the Iron Man actor is also a dedicated environmentalist who’s committed to fighting climate change.

Now, in Discovery+’s new series Downey’s Dream Cars, the Sherlock Holmes and Chaplin star is on a mission to modify some of his motors and make them more environmentally friendly by hiring a team of experts to turn his prized possessions into vehicles that are less harmful to the planet.

‘We are what we drive, and having amassed a formidable collection of classic cars over the years, I was a petrol-spewing mess and a hypocrite,’ he admits.
