NEW DRAMA
World on Fire Sunday, 9pm, BBC1 (box set, iPlayer)
Intrepid young heroes from across the globe continue their fight for freedom as the epic World War Two drama World on Fire returns for a second series.
We rejoin the story in late 1940, with young soldier Harry Chase (Jonah Hauer-King) arriving home in Cheshire with his new bride, Polish resistance fighter Kasia (Zofia Wichłacz), as German bombers prowl the skies above Manchester.
Harry and Kasia fell in love while he was stationed in Poland as a translator in the first years of the war and he helped evacuate her younger brother Jan to England, where he now lives with Harry’s mother Robina (Lesley Manville).
