Friends Hugh Bonneville and John Bishop set out to explore their family trees

As celebrity bromances go, the one between Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville and comedian John Bishop is among the more unlikely.

But the chalk-and-cheese duo recently became firm friends and, as a result, agreed to find out more about their respective family trees on ITV1’s genealogy show DNA Journey, which returns this week.

The pair met when Bishop, 56, went for a vaccine jab at his home near the South Downs and discovered Bonneville, 59, was volunteering with his wife at his local vaccination centre.
