Set in Ashfield, a Nottinghamshire town divided by the legacy of the 1984 miners’ strike, the first season of Sherwood was a huge hit with viewers as it centred on two shocking murders and delved into issues such as organised crime and ‘spy cops’.
Now, the award-winning drama is back on BBC1 for a second season that focuses on the wave of gun crime that once earned Nottingham the unenviable nickname ‘Shottingham’.
DOMINO EFFECT
