NEW THRILLER

Special Ops: Lioness From Sunday 23 July, Paramount+ (first two episodes from Sunday 23 July, then weekly)

A real-life CIA anti-terrorist team inspired Paramount+’s nail-biting espionage thriller Special Ops: Lioness, starring Nicole Kidman, Zoe Saldaña and Morgan Freeman.

In the eight-part series, created by Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan, Oscar-winner and Big Little Lies star Kidman plays Kaitlyn Meade, the co-chief of the Lioness Program – a unit set up to thwart another 9/11 by using female operatives to get close to the wives and daughters of terrorists.

A young US Marine, Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira), is tasked by the team to befriend the daughter of a billionaire with ties to terrorism so the CIA can bring down his organisation.

‘It’s an intense look at the world of espionage and there’s an enormous amount of action, so you have to hold tight and be in for the ride!’ says Kidman, 56, as she chats to TV&Satellite Week about the series at a plush London hotel.
