There are changes afoot as ITV1 talent search The Voice UK spins back on to our screens this week.
Following the departures of Anne-Marie and Olly Murs at the end of the last series, the coaching panel has had a makeover, with the line-up now featuring returnees Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am, along with the new signings of award-winning US singer LeAnn Rimes (see our box, right) and McFly bandmates Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher, who will be sharing a specially designed double red chair!
Here, Danny, 38, and Tom, 39, tell us what to expect from Series 13…
In a first for The Voice UK, you’ll be sitting in a double seat and must agree on an act in order for the chair to turn. Have there been many differences of opinion?
DANNY There haven’t really been any disagreements, but we only get 90 seconds to make our choice. So we might second-guess ourselves while trying to figure out what each other is thinking. And we have to talk telepathically!
TOM There was one audition where Danny literally grabbed my hand to press the button, because I was wavering and taking my time! But that’s part of being in the double chair: if Danny hears something I don’t, you have to trust your partner.
