THE GREAT CELEBRITY BAKE OFF
NEW SUNDAY, 7.45PM,
C4 COOKERY
Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith always have a ball judging the wonderful and wonderfully weird biscuits, cakes and pastries on offer in C4’s e Great Celebrity .
‘I love the celebrity version because it has all the best things about but it’s not as serious,’ smiles Dame Prue, 83, as TV Times joins her and Paul, 57, for a chat about the latest series. ‘There’s a lot more laughter!’
Hosted again by Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas, each episode in the fivepart run will see four hopefuls showcasing their baking skills to raise vital money for charity. First to enter the famous white tent are Friends favourite David Schwimmer, former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson, King Gary star Tom Davis and comedian Rose Matafeo.
Here, Paul and Dame Prue tell us more about putting the fun into fundraising…
What was it like watching David Schwimmer compete in the first episode?
PAUL Great! I stepped down from my trailer and saw him coming in, and I was like, ‘He’s here!’ I couldn’t believe it.
I was a big fan of Friends, so it was lovely to be with him and to meet David rather than Ross [David’s character in the hit American sitcom]. He’s such a nice guy, but he was intense and concentrated. He wanted to do well and he’s talented.
