DEATH IN PARADISE BOXING DAY, 9PM, BBC1 DRAMA
If anyone deserves a wonderful Christmastime, it’s Death in Paradise’s DI Neville Parker.
Last winter, the 12th series of the Caribbean-set BBC1 crime drama saw the unlucky-in-love cop (played by Ralf Little) framed for murder by his girlfriend, Sophie (Chelsea Edge), in an act of revenge after one of his old cases in Manchester led to the death of her sister.
The experience crushed Neville, but, fortunately, his mum Melanie (new cast signing Doon Mackichan) is on hand with sackfuls of festive cheer when she arrives on the (fictional) island of Saint Marie to spend quality time with her son in this year’s feature-length seasonal special.
Neville is also being kept busy investigating the death of entrepreneur Gerry Stableforth (Hatton Garden star Geoff Bell) – and, along the way, he accidentally infuriates Commissioner Selwyn Patterson (Don Warrington) at the Christmas- light switch-on!
TV Times brought Ralf, 43, and Don, 72, in for questioning…
This is Death in Paradise third Christmas mystery. What can you share about the story?
