BRUNO TONIOLI on why this year's final is set to be an exciting extravaganza
VICTORIA WILSON
STARS in his eyes!

Bruno Tonioli has certainly lived up to his reputation as TV’s most unpredictable judge since joining Britain’s Got Talent in 2023. Quickly making his mark with an unprecedented hit of the show’s coveted Golden Buzzer midway through an audition last year, the former Strictly Come Dancing panellist has gone one better this time by striking gold so hard that the button broke!

As TV Times catches up with him for an exclusive interview, the Italian choreographer is bursting with excitement as he and fellow judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon prepare for the ITV1 entertainment juggernaut’s grand final this Sunday, where the winning act of Series 17 will walk away with £250,000 and a spot on the bill at the Royal Variety Performance.

Here, Bruno, 68, tells us anything can happen on the big night, and probably will…

After being the new boy last year, did you approach judging the show differently this time round?

You can’t plan how you’ll do things on BGT, because it depends on what sort of act turns up. With any first series, there’s more pressure because if anything goes wrong, you’ve got to carry the bucket, ha ha! Fortunately, it went well and I enjoyed it.

This series, myself, Simon, Alesha and Amanda really went for it as a team and had a fantastic time. In my opinion, the competition has been even better this year because we had so much talent – the Golden Buzzers were flying for good reason.
