CASUALTY
SATURDAY, 9.15 PM, BBC1 DRAMA
Elinor Lawless is excited that her Casualty character, consultant Stevie Nash, is at the centre of the medical drama's latest 12-episode story, A History of Violence.
This is definitely going to be a monumental series!' promises the actor, as she joins TV Times for an exclusive interview during a break in filming.
Following an extended break, the popular BBC1 show returned to our screens on 30 December with the new arc's dramatic opener, Tinderbox, in which Stevie was tested to breaking point.
Over the coming weeks, the whole team will be challenged like never before, with the instalments also including the arrival of new characters, the much-anticipated return of a fan favourite and the exit of nurse Charlie Fairhead, who has been a ward stalwart since Casualty began on 6 September 1986.
Here, Elinor gives us her take on what lies ahead...
What can you tell us about A History of Violence?
A&E departments are highly charged environments, and, in the opening episode, Tinderbox, there's a horrific act of violence that ultimately culminates in an exit for one character. It also serves as the catalyst for a zero-tolerance approach headed up by a shaken Stevie.
