THE HAIRY BIKERS: COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
TUESDAY, 9PM, BBC2 COOKERY
Christmas for the Hairy Bikers is extra special this year. Just 18 months ago, Dave Myers was diagnosed with cancer and has since gone through almost 40 rounds of gruelling chemotherapy, which initially left him too ill to walk and unable to ride his beloved motorbike.
Now, in new BBC2 special The Hairy Bikers: Coming Home for Christmas, Dave and his best pal Si King are on a mission to seek out wonderful seasonal ingredients as they set about preparing a lavish festive banquet to thank all those who’ve helped get Dave back on his feet.
‘We love a Christmas knees-up, but after my recent cancer diagnosis, it’s been hard to get in the Christmas spirit,’ admits Dave, 66.
