GORDON, GINO & FRED: VIVA ESPAÑA!
NEW SUN & MON, 9PM, ITV1 TRAVELOGUE
Expect food fights and culinary chaos as bickering buddies Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix take to the road once more in their latest ITV1 series, Gordon, Gino & Fred: Viva España!
The ‘three amigos with extra-large egos’, as Gordon puts it, are heading off in their beloved RV to search for the best food and drink in Spain, exploring the regions of Andalusia in the south and Galicia in the north-west. And when they aren’t chomping on chorizo or sipping sangria, the trio dive into the local culture - whether that means waiting tables at Malaga’s busiest restaurant or showing off their flamenco skills!
Here, Gordon, 56, Gino, 47, and Fred, 51, serve up delicious titbits from their trip…
What appealed to you all about going to Spain for this series?
GINO I hadn’t been to Spain for over 20 years, so I was really keen and excited to rediscover some of the amazing places and food it has to offer.
GORDON I love everything about Spain - the food, history and culture. You can go all out in the big cities, or take yourself off the beaten track and discover the rural, unspoiled delights of the country. There’s amazing regional delicacies and local ingredients. It’s a chef’s paradise, for sure.
FRED We were going to some regions I had never been to. Spain is an amazing country, and everything is unique to the destination that you go to, whether you are in the north, south or centre, in the mountains or near the sea.
How would you summarise the food of Spain?
