The fate of missing teenager Lauren Bolton in ITV's Coronation Street has eluded Weather field Police since she vanished into thin air back in February.
There have been theories, speculation and red herrings galore, but now the truth is set to be revealed in a special week of episodes, running nightly from Holiday Monday to Friday.
So how did a slow-burn story of a vulnerable young girl develop into soap's biggest murder mystery of 2024?
A TRAGIC STORY
Viewers first met Lauren (played by Cait Fitton) in November 2022.
The wayward daughter of Reece Bolton (Scott Anson), who was a member of the far-right extremist group grooming Max Turner (Paddy Bever), Lauren was left to fend for herself after her dad was sent to prison.
'She has been through a lot of trauma,' says Cait, 22.

Although the community showed her kindness, the troubled teenager didn't do herself any favours when it came to making friends.
Her self-destructive streak made it hard to like Lauren, but that didn't stop caring locals like Roy Cropper, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) and Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) trying to help her.
Things took a darker turn when she got so desperate for cash that she started making explicit videos on subscriber site O-Vidz.
