Dr Matthew Nolan and DC Hana Li find themselves in a desperate fight for survival when the killer claims a third victim, as Red Eye continues! Since the plane took off from Heathrow, a passenger who ate a meal meant for Matthew and Matthew's colleague Dr Steven Hurst have both died in suspicious circumstances. It soon becomes clear there's a killer on the loose when Steven's widow, Dr Amber Hurst, is also found dead. Matthew and Hana have no idea who's behind the murders, but someone who might be able to help is MI5 boss Madeline Delaney (Lesley Sharp).
'Years of training allow Madeline to click into a totally focused mindset,' explains&nbsp;Lesley. 'She's brilliant at her job, but she's also got a really good, moral, human core. She's one of the good guys!' With Britain and China in the final stages of a controversial nuclear deal, Madeline knows there could be powerful forces at play in Matthew's case.

However, Madeline suspects some people in the British Government are keen to see the back of Matthew, especially when the PM sends John Tennant (Jonathan Aris) to oversee her operation.
'She's handling this situation against the backdrop of workplace politics,' explains Lesley. 'Other people want her job, so she's fighting fires on several fronts in a mindful way.
'However, Madeline's not someone who loses it easily - she's very good at keeping it together.'
