It’s hard to miss sociology student Halle Tan at a party. As the co-founder of the hyper-pop party series Ringtone, drag artist Halle Heiss and DJ Prostatelatte, she’s almost always kitted out in a full face of drag-inspired makeup, which she says makes her feel empowered.
“The drag community is so lively and fun, especially for those of us who love bold and unconventional styles,” she says. “Being a part of it allows us to express ourselves and feel like we belong – we don’t have to justify ourselves or explain anything to anyone.”
