At Watches & Wonders 2024, it was the last edition (as we would later find out) of Nicolas Bos at the helm of Van Cleef & Arpels, on the cusp of his appointment as CEO of luxury conglomerate Richemont, the Maison’s holding company. After joining Richemont in 1992, Bos was initially delegated to the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in Paris before transitioning to Van Cleef & Arpels in 2000. In 2013, Bos became global president and CEO of the French luxury jewellery brand. Certainly, his perspective on métiers d’art and how Van Cleef & Arpels has committed to its preservation and transmission makes great insight. Together with the views of Rainer Bernard, Head of Watchmaking Research & Development of Van Cleef & Arpels, we gain further insider clarity into the Maison’s exceptional expertise in craftsmanship and know-how, reflected through the Poetry of Time universe where métiers d’art plays a key role of its realisation.
