FINE LINE
Synonymous with French savoir faire, toile de Jouy is now found applied to the Dior Maison line of white Limoges porcelain with prints rendered in a regal blue, the new variation a tribute to a key colour of the Maison. Dressing up dinner, dessert and bread plates, plus tea and coffee sets, the blue toile de Jouy patterns express the joy of entertaining as well as Dior's skillful artistrythe enamelling and detailed painting are all completed by hand. This striking collection stands out best against plain or white jacquard table linen.
For the outdoors, Dior introduces a line of furniture by product and interior designer Sam Baron, presented in The Pâtisserie at 30 Avenue Montaigne and in Dior cafés around the world. Comprising a chair, an armchair, and round and square tables, the airy green metal pieces feature a number of references to Dior design codes, from the openwork cannage to the silhouette of Dior's Medallion chair, a style that originated in the late 18th century and became firmly associated with the Maison starting in 1947.
MAKING WAVES
Loro Piana Interiors marks its debut at Milan Design Week this year with new furniture by multidisciplinary designer Raphael Navot.
Building on the Palm Duet chaise longue the brand introduced in 2021, the collaboration expands into a collection with new objects inspired by the same embrace of intimacy and timelessness: a sofa, a méridienne, an armchair, stools, a side and coffee table, and an ottoman.
Named after the palm of the hand - a symbol of warmth and safety the collection was presented through an installation at the Cortile della Seta, amid an undulating landscape that mimics the soft curves found in the furniture pieces.
