Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso One Métiers Rares Precious Colours
Everyone's favourite swivelling watch reveals yet another glorious visage beneath the hood, one that puts the manufacture's mastery of decorative arts and jewellery techniques on proud display. As a continuation of 2021's Métiers Rares Precious Flowers series, the craftsmen and women at Jaeger-LeCoultre combined different traditional métiers d'arts in each timepiece. Miniature grand feu enamel meets gem-setting in diamonds. Together they express the powerful geometrical beauty of the art deco period.
Two renditions have been created this year, one in green with white on white gold and another, blue with black on pink gold. Each variation is hand-painted using four different hues of green or blue to achieve a dynamic yet elegant effect. The motif sees overlapping panels of colour interspersed with diamond-paved surfaces where each stone is set deep into the case using the grainsetting technique.
As such the stones sit completely flush with the enamel layer, and every line is perfectly straight even though they are drawn by hand. Most tellingly, Jaeger-LeCoultre's savoir-faire can be clearly observed at the point where the enamelling extends onto convex case sides-an aspect that is nailbitingly challenging to achieve, but that Jaeger-LeCoultre has flawlessly executed.
