WHEN people think of growing vegetables in containers, they usually think of tomatoes, courgettes, cucumbers and other things you can grow in growbags.

But there are loads of tasty, easy-to grow summer crops that can be grown in pots and bags, even old compost bags and ‘bag for life’ carriers.

Root vegetables such as carrots, beetroot and radishes are an obvious choice, as are quick-growing spring onions to add some pep to salads.
