How would it be if a smile were our fundamental identity? When you give someone a smile, you not only reap the benefits of a smile for yourself, but you also become the reason for another person's smile. This is the smile virus we must spread and welcome every day in our lives.
On 15th March 2023, Reachout and The Yoga Institute embarked on a journey to celebrate life with the spirit of inclusion and oneness. Since 2005, our integration and interaction camps here have brought together people with special needs (or challenges) to mingle with the teacher trainees at the Institute and spend an enriching time together. This unique encounter provides a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most. Exposure creates sensitization and experiential learning.
The kaleidoscope of activities throughout the day included yoga, games, dance, Zumba, drama, singing, art, a talent show, a ramp walk with friends, a gift exchange, and much more, making the six-hour challenge one that was enthusiastically accepted by all.
A volunteer orientation started the ball rolling prior to the event, allowing everyone to prepare for the upcoming opportunity. This was also an opportunity to put the yoga lessons into practice and move from 'I, Me, My' to 'We, Ours, and Us!'
