Beautifully designed interiors are to be celebrated. There will always be styles that will endure, classic traditional looks that exude quality and grandeur, some opulent, others off ering a minimalist pared-back nuance. Some borrow cues from mid-century modern, Hamptons, contemporary or coastal styles. Within the realm of design, that is ever evolving; there are always new innovations and fresh ideas.

YOUR SPACES REDEFINED

There’s plenty in store this year with captivating looks and designs that are bold and inspired. Eloise Sim from Cosh Living says in 2024 there’s a resurgence of diverse styles. “People are yearning for sophisticated spaces but with a preference for a laid-back atmosphere,” she notes. “I think we will see more creative takes on classic styles, with a leaning towards the timeless grace of European-inspired design.”

Eloise adds that people are truly eager to elevate a sense of self-expression through their interiors. “This eagerness will be apparent in the incorporation of lots of layering and playful elements in designs,” she explains.

GEOMETRIC FLAIR

This year we are seeing enduring styles such as Art Deco that continue to captivate. Interior designer Emma Blomfi eld says Art Deco style is still robust. “It’s based on the 1920s luxe geometric and we will see that through 2024,” she says.

A riot of colour underpins Art Deco. Emma says it’s mixing teal green or emerald green with ruby red and sapphire blues. “Beautiful rich tones, luxurious textiles and brass, chrome or nickel,” she notes. Complement these with plenty of curves in arched mirrors and decor.
