flooring textures and tones can dictate the personality of a space, creating an aesthetic ambience that flows throughout the home. Flooring is undeniably tactile - and it can evoke any number of emotive responses. It can feel cool and luxurious, be warm and opulent, or even add effervescence to a space. Flooring also makes a statement in design. As new flooring styles continue to evolve, we're shining the light on fabulous flooring trends that are wowing designers across the globe.

TILES THAT TELL TALES

Patterned concrete tiles are unique and timeless, evoking oldworld charm. Adele Burul Simat from Bisazza says concrete tiles were typically used in the palaces and mansions of nobility and the privileged classes during the second half of the 1800s and early 1900s. It’s a long-standing history that continues to evolve, with new product innovations.

“Our vast line of cementiles is designed to communicate the decorative style of the past and present through expressive artistic language that reveals the creative genius of each of the project designers,” she says. “Each tile is made entirely by hand and is unprecedented and unique.” There is a rich palette of colours and contemporary and classic graphic motifs that lend a bold, modern, expressive identity.

BLONDE AMBITION

The warmth of timber is unmistakable. Timber is robust and weathers with grace, each knot and gnarl has a history, a story to tell, and timber floors are no exception. Timber boards can last for generations and once sanded, they are refreshed and renewed.
