FROM THE A. CAIRELLI "TIPO" chronographs of the 1960s to the Pilot Montre d'Aéronef Type 20, Zenith has such a strong claim to being of the most key manufacturers of aviator timepieces that only it owns the rights to badge its creations "pilot" on the dial.
But the history of Zenith's Pilot watches goes further back-all the way to 1909 as a matter of fact when French aviator Louis Blériot became the first man to fly across the English Channel with a Zenith. While that history is immortalised in its beloved Bronze Pilot editions, this trio of new novelties unites three references from the late '60s and '70s, exploring the professional and consumer side of Zenith's Pilot watches from that era.
INTRODUCING ZENITH ICONS ACT ONE: PILOT CAPSULE COLLECTION
For the past few years, Zenith has opened the repository of wealth that has been the Maison's heritage by offering rare vintage pieces which have been curated, restored and certified by the Manufacture through its Icons programme. For watch collectors, it offers unparalleled peace of mind by providing only 100% original examples that have been examined and certified by the Manufacture itself, avoiding the typical dramas so often chronicled by industry connoisseurs like Perezcope which exposes some of the shenanigans and "franken" pieces that often plague the Auction market.
