Born and raised in the coastal paradise of Goa, Mrs. Gayatri's formative years were steeped in the rich traditions of the performing arts, thanks in part to her parents' encouragement. Her father, a prominent anesthesiologist, and her mother, an active advocate for women's empowerment, nurtured her artistic inclinations from an early age. Proficient in the classical dance form of Bharatanatyam, Mrs. Gayatri seized the opportunity to be one of the group dancers in a video shoot for a song meant for Doordarshan Goa. This experience ultimately led her to land her first significant role as a lead actress in the Konkani film "Dekhani Durai" in 1994.
Despite her initial hesitations, support from her director, Rajiv Shinde, and co-actor, Rajesh R. Pednekar, bolstered her confidence, earning her the coveted 'Goa State Best Actress Award' at the very first Goa Film Festival in 1995. This early success ignited a passion for storytelling that would define her career, but she was also committed to her education, which momentarily took precedence over her acting pursuits.
