Right on the border (pun intended) of retirement age, Suniel Shetty is busy whipping up post after post on LinkedIn, giving India's self-styled army of financial influencers or 'finfluencers' a real run for their money. Shetty's journey on the workspace social network began early last August, with an opener that reintroduced himself to his fanbase at the age of 61 - over 30 years after his Bollywood debut with Balwaan (1992). At the time, Shetty was fresh off the sets of 2022's Dharavi Bank - his OTT launch that drew middling reviews, but consistent praise for the actor's performance.
In the months since, Shetty has penned nearly 10,000 words on everything from his humble origins to musings on stardom, the football World Cup, investor culture, inspiring athletes, and personal fitness, all while taking a day or two to reply to the many comments that range from enthu-cutlet essays to a simple 'thank you daddy' messages - the latter being a regular occurrence for one of Bollywood's favourite silver foxes. As the resident zaddy of desi LinkedIn, we think that Shetty's online eloquence deserves a bit of a shoutout. Here are seven sage pieces of wisdom that we've received from Anna:
THERE'S NO SHORTCUT TO HAPPINESS
Soon after his official partnership with LinkedIn was announced, Shetty shared a simple formula in a post that reflected upon his 40+ years as an entrepreneur: "Discipline + sincerity + hard work happiness & success". Apparently, a lesson taught by the veteran actor's father Veerapa Shetty, this philosophy remains true to date, whether we look at Veerapa's struggle to provide for his family as a humble cleaner and restaurateur, or his son Suniel's long rise to fame during Bollywood's superstar era.
WE DON'T NEED TO ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING ALONE
